Hey
You are right that HC Verma is not enough to score in JEE advanced because the difficulty level of exam is very high and you need very hard practice and conceptual knowledge to crack it( and not only cracking is enough you have to score good for IIT).
So I would suggest to go through the NCERT and HC Verma and dc Pandey first and build your concepts and theory .
Than you go for good books ( which contains some good problem and different concepts)
Like : cengage learning
And finally start  IE Erodove.
And you should solve GMP ( grand master package ) or other questions banks of Bansal classes ; ALLEN or FITJEE ( these are the finest problems and it will given at the end before exam ) .You can arrange it from your friends .

If you are consistent with problem solving then definitely you can crack jee advanced.
Just focus on practice as it will increase your chances and i will recommend you to join any online test series program of coaching institutes like ALLEN, RESONANCE,etc so that you will become familiar with the pattern of exam.
Practice previous year's questions also and do self assessment.
