Hello ,

Inguinal Triangle / Triangle of Hasselbach

  • This triangle is situated deep to the posterior wall of the inguinal canal hence it is seen on the inner aspect of the lower part of anterior abdominal wall
  • It is bounded inferiorly by the medial third of the inguinal ligament, medially by the lower lateral border of rectus abdominis and laterally by the inferior epigastric vessels.
  • It is related to the posterior wall of inguinal canal

Boundaries of Inguinal Triangle in detail :

  • Medial : Lower 5 cm of the lateral border of rectus abdominis muscle
  • Lateral : Inferior epigastric Artery
  • Inferior : Medial Half of the Inguinal ligament
  • The floor of the triangle is covered by peritoneum, extra peritoneal tissue and fascia transversalis
