An ecosystem is natural unit of living and non living components in a global environment.

  • ACQATIC ECOSYSTEM:
  1. Freshwater ecosystem: includes lakes, ponds, rivers and streams.
  2. Lotic ecosystem: Beetles, trout fish, stoneflies.
  3. Lentic ecosystem: lakes and ponds are included in lentic ecosystem.
  4. Wetlands: marshy areas such as swamps, marshes, bogs and water lilies are plant examples, while in animals the example is dragonfly .
  5. ocean: shark, crabs, worms , shellfish are the examples.
  6. coastal : lobsters, snails, insects, fishes are the examples.
  7. Marine aquatic ecosystem: reefs, seas, oceans, tidal zones are examples.
