Dear aspirant,

Both Electrical engineering and Electronics Engineering deals with signal. But the diffrence is tha Electrical engineer work with signals of HIGH POWER and LOW FREQUENCY . So in their course they study aboutmachines working on such signals Like Motor, Generator, Transformer.

Wheras Electronics and communication, is about signals of LOW POWER and HIGH FREQUENCY. These signals are used in data transmission for communication So ECE focus on topics like semiconductors,Diodes , Transistors ,ICs.

In electrical engineering, the competition is not very tough and the availability of jobs too are good. Electrical graduates are employed in Electricity Boards/Utility companies responsible for installation. For individuals dreaming of JTO(Junior Training Officer), DRDO(Defence Research and Development Organisation), ISRO(Indian Space Research Organisation) and GATE, EEE is not a good choice. This is because they have a separate paper for ECE, while students pursuing electrical have to study a lot of other things. Besides this, Electrical students can’t take IES while ECE students can.
