For the sake of reducing the anxiety of the students to know the probability of selection in a study course, colleges/ universities bring out provisional merit list

It is something like an informal merit list which will be followed by an authenticated one.

It does has its value legally. Once final merit list is issued, the provisional one automatically becomes void
