differentiate between surface water and ground water

Hey,

You can just remember both the terms just by their names. Surface water is the water, which is present on the surface of lakes, rivers and oceans. You can directly see it by your eyes. Surface water can easily be contaminated. Whereas Ground water is the water which is located deep inside the earth like as below the layer of rocks. This water is more pure than surface water.
