Primary Succession is the process of growth in an area which was  uninhabited, barren, unoccupied and there was no vegetation at initial period .

On the other hand if we talk about  secondary Succession then it is the growth of the community in such area which was previously occupied, inhabited and that has primary vegetation but it got disturbed or damaged due to some external or internal factors.
