It is possible for only diploma students, which is called lateral entry btech.. By giving the entrance, they should directly enter into the 2nd year btech compare to others...

Otherwise nothing is admit into the 2nd year directly...

I got your query. If you had persue diploma in any field suppose in mechanical you did that and you need to apply for only mechanical in any engineering colleges. Every state will conduct a test like this CET. if you can take care of the marks then they'll give seat.
