As every term has advantages as well as disadvantages, File processing system has also some disadvantages, which I am describing you in detail.

Disadvantages of File Processing System

1. Data Redundancy and Inconsistency - Identical data are distributed over various file system .This is because of the redundancy inconsistency may occur on updating .


2. Data Isolation - Data is stored in various files which may be in different formats . It is difficult to share data among different applications .


3.Integrity Problem - The data stored in the database once satisfy certain type of consistency constants.


4. Security - Application programs are added to the system . It is difficult to maintain security.


5. Concurrent Access Problem - Data may be accessed by many different applications which have not previously coordinated .
