The wealth definition of economics was given by Adam Smith in his famous book “The Wealth of Nations.” According to this definition, economics is the study of wealth, including how wealth is produced, distributed, exchanged, and consumed in a society.

In this view, the main focus of economics is on material wealth, meaning goods and services that satisfy human wants. It explains how people and nations earn income, create wealth, and use resources for economic growth. However, this definition was later criticized because it focused mainly on wealth and gave less importance to human welfare.
