Dear student,

Deoxyribonucleic acid(DNA) is a molecule which essential for inheritance in human being and most of the organism. It contains the set of instructions that is needed for development, living and growth.

It is a two-stranded molecule and it has a unique double helix shape and looks like a twisted ladder.

It consists of five bases as the building blocks and these bases are adenine, cytosine, guanine and thymine.

DNA was first identified by Swiss chemist Friedrich Miescher in late 1860s but some people believes that it was discovered by American biologist James Watson and English physicist Francis Crick in 1950s.

I hope this answer helps you.

All the very best!!

Hello there,

DNA, or deoxyribonucleic acid, is the hereditary material found in humans and other organisms. The information in DNA is stored as a code made up of four chemical bases: adenine (A), guanine (G), cytosine (C), and thymine (T). DNA bases pair up with each other, A with T and C with G, to form units called base pairs. Each base is also attached to a sugar molecule and a phosphate molecule. Together, a base, sugar, and phosphate are called a nucleotide.

The double helical structure of DNA was first discovered by an American Biologist James Watson and English Physicist Francis Crick in 1950. It was named Watson and Crick Model. Though, they discovered the double helix structureof DNA, the first ever DNA was identified in the late 1860s by a Swiss Chemist Friedrich Miescher.

Hope this information helps you.
Thank you!!

Hello,

Deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) is the genetic material it is the carrier of genetic information. The DNA molecule is composed of two polynucleotide that coil around each other to form a double helix carrying genetic instructions for the development, functioning, growth and reproduction of all organisms and many versus. DNA was first identified in the late 1860s by Swiss chemist Friedrich Miescher.

DNA is an acronym for Deoxyrebonucleic Acid.DNA was discovered in 1869 by Swiss researcher Friedrich Miescher, who was originally trying to study the composition of lymphoid cells (white blood cells). Instead, he isolated a new molecule he called nuclein (DNA with associated proteins) from a cell nucleus.
