St. Xavier College (Autonomous) considers your best four subject marks. In the given best four, English and Maths must be two of them.

If you want to take an admission in St xaviers college you will have to have maths/b.maths/b.stats as a compulsory subject in your +2 level and have to obtain a minimum of 45% in order to be eligible to apply for the course. But if you want to study in St. Xavier’s University you need not have maths since admission tests are conducted separately for the purpose and merit lists are published on the basis of that.

Also, Maths is very much in the syllabus in the first two years of BCom(H) curriculum and there's no escaping from it ;)

Following is the Eligibility Criteria for application for B.Com.(Honours) :

• Compulsory Subject(s) in +2 level: English & (Maths/B.Maths/Stats) + any two. 
• Aggregate calculation: English + (Maths/B.Maths/Stats) + any two
• Marks requirement for Application: Agg 60%
