Hi Muzammil,

EWS certificate candidates hold the 10% reservation of the total seats, it doesn't mean that you will require less marks to take the admission in any engineering colleges as compared to general candidates. This benefit is given to the weaker sections so that they can pursue higher education. If there is 100 seats for general then 10 seats will be reserved for EWS candidates.

Hi dear,

Irrespective of category,Government of India introduced a new reservation term EWS (Economically Weaker section) . This quota is for the people whose family annum income is below 8 lakhs.

For the JEE mains exam, the registration for EWS has been started. It will help the students who are economically weaker there by getting reservation. How much reservation will it add was not announced by the officials. But for the jee mains exam it will be probably 10%.

This has been a better initiative by the government towards the economically weaker classes.

So EWS category candidates will be given reservation,so they will probably require less marks.

Thank You!!
