Yes the intermediate marks does have an effect on your admission procedure and scholarship...The more marks you have scored in intermediate will make you eligible for some amount of scholarship in college which is a good thing. Entrance tests are just a medium to know the amount of interested students willing to prefer engineering in certain private colleges they only adhere to do ample amount of admissions.

Hwy its depend , because on start round of counseling is based on jee marks but one last round is percentage round and these last is for some govt.and private college.
Not for nit or IIIT.
Most probably there is need of jee marks.

Basically it is based on rank but a min marks are needed for admission.
