Hello there,

Yes, regular attendance is generally mandatory for M.Tech courses in most universities and colleges, especially for full-time programs. Here’s why:

1. Attendance Requirement:

  • Most institutions require at least 75% attendance to be eligible for semester exams.

  • Some universities are strict and may debar students from exams if attendance is too low.

    2. Practical Work and Projects:

  • M.Tech involves lab sessions, seminars, and project work that cannot be done without attending classes.

  • Faculty guidance during these sessions is important.

    3. Exceptions:

  • If you are pursuing part-time or distance M.Tech (offered by select universities), you may get some flexibility.

  • However, even in such courses, contact programs or weekend classes are often compulsory.

    Summary:

If you’re doing full-time regular M.Tech , attending classes is necessary. If you're looking for flexibility, consider part-time, distance, or online M.Tech options , but check if they are AICTE-approved and valid for your goals.

I hope this answer helps you. If you have more queries, then feel free to share your questions with us, we will be happy to assist you.

Thank you, and I wish you all the best in your bright future.

Hello!!

Whether you need to attend regular classes for M.Tech or just appear for exams depends on the type of M.Tech program you're enrolled in.

Here’s a breakdown of the common types of M.Tech programs and what they require:

1. Regular (Full-Time) M.Tech

Classes: Yes, you have to attend regular classes (like B.Tech).

Duration: 2 years (4 semesters).

Attendance: Usually mandatory (minimum 75%).

Exams: Internal assessments + semester exams.

Common for: GATE-qualified students, students in IITs, NITs, and top universities.

2. Part-Time or Evening M.Tech

Classes: Held in the evening or weekends, mainly for working professionals.

Attendance: Still required, though more relaxed.

Exams: Semester exams still apply.

3. Distance or Online M.Tech (Very Limited & Not AICTE Approved for All)

Classes: Usually online lectures, sometimes recorded.

Attendance: May or may not be compulsory depending on the university.

Exams: Some require physical presence, others conduct online exams.
