Yes, engineering colleges do have vacations. After every year, there is a break of a 1 or 2 months, which you can also call your summer vacations.

Also, after each semester, there is a semester break as well. Moreover, you get holidays such as Diwali and Holi in most colleges as well.

When you say 'Vacations' , I assume you are talking about holidays on a long stretch. Well, there are semester breaks available after completion of 1,2,3 year. But students mostly pursue internships in these breaks in order to improve their vocational skills and gain hands-on-experience.

The duration of breaks often differ from college to college. I suggest you to go through the academic calendar of the respective college .
