Hi Nabarun, Yes, railway SSC job is good for a mechanical engineer... Various type of post such as Site Engineer, Junior Engineer, Quality Engineer, Signal Processing Engineer, Indian Railway Store Service, Central Power Engineering Service and many more. In govt. sector After IES and NDA, the third reputed position for mechanical engineers exist in railways.... so, gud Luck

I'm in eight semester ,can I apply for SSE in railway this year?

Hey,

Yes, these are government jobs and almost 30-40lac graduates apply for these jobs every year.
It also depends on your interest - whether you want to work in MNC's or you want to go for a government job?
Both are good options.
