Yes, the number 12 fulfills the divisibility criteria of the number 12. 

A number is divisible by 12 only if it is divisible by both 3 and 4. Let us check if 72 fulfills the divisibility criteria of 3 and 4. 

Divisibility criteria of 3 - Summation of the digits of the number have to be divisible by 3. For 72, we can see that the summation of the digits for 72 is 

7+2=9

We know 3 times 3 is 9, and hence 9 is divisible by 3. Therefore, 12 is divisible by 3. 

Divisibility criteria of 4 - The last two digits of a number have to be divisible by 4. As 72 is a two-digit number, we can easily check that it can be divided by 4 with zero as a remainder. Hence 72 is divisible by 4 too. 

As 72 is divisible by both 3 and 4, we can conclude that it is divisible by 12.
