No you don't need to score 60 % marks individually in English,  rather one needs an aggregate marks of 60%. Actually to be eligible for Aiims , candidates must have completed their Class 12 from CBSE/ISC/State Board with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English as the main subject. For General and OBC aspirants 60% aggregate must be scored while
for SC and ST candidates 50% aggregate. For PwD candidates - 45% aggregate.
But now aiims and Jipmer have been merged with Neet,  so the criteria may change.
