Hello there, I am a Mechanical Engineer from Dr. MGR University(2010-2014), and believe me the 4 years in this university was one of the best time i had , and would always cherish it for the rest of my life. Even though you will hear a lot of jabbering to defame the name of college, but this is a prestigious institution which will help you for your future endeveours, provided you help yourself.
I will specify a few facts about my own branch(mechanical)

1.Atleast 5-6 professors in our Department are Doctorates, alumnus from the prestigeous IIT's or Anna university.
2.Many alumni from our department are working in leading companies like Maruti, Ashok leyland and Tata.
3.Many of my batchmates are now settled abroad either pursuing higher studies or are associated with some leading MNC of thier respective sector.
4. As the name suggests Dr. MURUGAN GOPALAKRISHNAN RAMACHANDRAN EDUCATIONAL AND RESEARCH INSTITUTE UNIVERSITY. Therefore a well equiped research facility is also provided.
5.This institute has comtinuously participated excelled and won in some or the other segment of SUPRA SAE , which is a national level event, that shows our mettle as a unit.


Besided there must be a few lows at times, or due to someone the name might have been tampered someday, but at the end of the day if you want to gain quality technical Knowledge and have good exposure in your field, Dr MGR university is a decent option.
