There are certain institutions run by Army Welfare Education Society (AWES). One of them is Army Institute of Technology (AIT). Situated in Line and affiliated to the Phone University, AIT is an AICTE recognized institute offering BE ( Bachelor's in Engineering) in IT, CS, Mechanical and Electronics and Telecommunications. UPSEE (to get into AKTU) has 5% horizontal quota for - Sons / Daughters of defence personnel of U.P. either retired (superannuated) or killed / disabled in action or defence personnel posted in U.P./defence personnel domicile of U.P. & posted outside U.P.
