for different college the cutoff will vary. Here are some approximations:-

1. for IIT:- <100-200
2. for NIT <500
3. for IIIT:- <5k
4. for government colleges :- <10k
5. for private colleges:- no cutoff if not a top college. if recognized then it will take upto 40K

The cutoff will vary per year too but not in IIT and NIT as they are hard to get and they keep the bar same mostly for every year making difficult to get the stream. The candidate who work hard and gives best out of best gets it.
