Hello, there are many Engineering colleges which give scholarships based on your 10+2 Percentage or marks. Coming to your question 50% scholarship means that you need to pay only half of the tuition fee. There are government colleges which do offer 90% scholarship as well.

Majority of scholarships in Engineering is on the Course fees.

Here 50% scholarship means that you will get a fee waiver of 50% of your total course fee.

That means if your fees is suppose "X" amount then you will get a scholarship of "X/2" amount from your college.
