Hi,

I hope it is your school/college homework.

  • Please reasearch it on your own, it will help you to grow.
  • It is made to widen your thinking process and to make you future ready for greater challenges.

However, I am providing basic information for you below to start with:

Silk waste is the fibrous part of silk that comes out after the cocoon has been spun. It can be used as a mulch, compost or fertilizer. The main by product of silk waste is protein which can be used to produce animal feed and mushroom powder.

Silk waste is a by product of silk production. The process of producing silk involves the removal of the cocoon from each caterpillar, which produces a wet mass called ‘silk waste’. This is then dried and sold to manufacturers for use in other products such as fabrics, dyes or food additives.

What are some uses for silk waste?

The most common use for this material is as an ingredient in food supplements and dietary supplements (e.g., vitamin C). Silk waste can also be used to make paper products, textiles and cosmetics. It can even be used as fuel or fertilizer!

Silk waste products are the by-products of silk production. These include:

silkworm cocoons (used to produce raw silk) and their by-products, including keratinous fibres and other materials that can be used in textiles;

unwoven fabric waste, including yarns and fabrics made from raw or processed silk; and raw or processed silk waste (including roving).

Thank you!
