Environment is important to us in our day to day life in a number of ways:

• Environment is what we see around us in it's natural form, and it is our basic life support system . As it gives us the air we breath, the water we drink , the food we eat and the land where we live.
• Lithosphere the part of our environment provides us with forests, grasslands for grazing, land for agriculture and for human settlements. It also provides us with mineral wealth.
• Hydrosphere, another part of environment related to the domain of water comprises many sources of water and different types of water bodies like rivers, lakes, seas and oceans. water is essential for every living organism be it plants, animals or human.
• Atmosphere is the thin layer of air that surrounds the earth. It protects us from the harmful rays and scorching heat of the sun. The change in atmosphere produces changes in weather and climate.
• Together all the lithosphere, Hydrosphere and atmosphere which is a part of environment makes the Biosphere where plant and animal kingdom thrive together as an ecosystem. All interact with each other to support life on earth.
