When a body changes its postion with time, it is said to be in motion.

There are three different types of motion :

1. Linear Motion

In this type of motion, the particles move from one point to another in either a straight line or a curved path. The linear motion depending on the path of the motion is further divided into rectilinear motion where the path of motion is a straight line and the other is curvilinear motion where the path of motion is curved.

2. Rotatory Motion

It is a motion that occurs when a body rotates on its own axis.

3. Oscillatory Motion

It is a motion of a body about its mean position.
