Dear aspirant !!

Hope you are doing great ! Two events are mutually exclusive when they cannot occur at the same time . In terms of biology, growth and reproduction are mutually inclusive events in unicellular organisms like bacteria.

In most of the higher organisms (plant and animals) reproduction and growth are mutually exclusive events because increase in the body size of living being do not alters the rate of reproduction or vice-versa .
