Preparatory course is offered in all the IITs. This course is for a duration of 1 year and is offered for SC/ST students in B.Tech and Dual Degree programmes. Generally 30-40 candidates are chosen for this course from the non-qualified list. The candidates have to study Physics,Chemistry, Mathematics,English for two semesters. After successful completion, the candidates will be alloted their branches based on the vacancies available for them.
