Maharashtra Police Sub Inspector is primarily responsible for maintaining law and order in the state by using all the powers, officially vested by the Govt. of India. The Sub Inspector (Executive)  comes under Group-C post and pay band of 9300–34800 +4200 Grade pay. The first promotion from an SI to the rank of an Inspector takes about 15 years, provided an impeccable service record. The next promotion to the rank of an ACP takes about 12 years.
