This is anoxidation-reduction(redox) reaction:

Cl (+5)+6e - Cl (-1) (reduction)
3Cl (+5) -6e - 3Cl (+7) (oxidation)

KClO 3 is both anoxidizingand areducingagent (disproportionation (dismutation)).

This is aprecipitationreaction:KClO 4 is the formed precipitate.

Yash In each case, 6 mole of electrons are exchanged whether we consider oxidation or reduction.
