The CA course is designed to combine theoretical study with practical training. There is an exam for it and is divided in 3 aspects:
So the steps are:

• Common Proficiency Test (CPT)
• Integrated Professional Competence Course (IPCC)

Final Examination

• ICAI conducts CPT exams in June and December, IPCC and Final examinations in May and November each year.

The role of a chartered accountant covers many aspects of finance work, including continuous management of financial systems and budgets; undertaking financial audits (an independent check of an organisation's financial position); and even providing financial advice.

This year CPT entrance is over and now the application will be available in JAN 2018.
