It isn't mandatory in all the colleges but sometimes you may have to qualify the exam in some of the colleges to get admission. Many of the colleges have their merit list but many take compulsory exams and personal interviews for selection.

No it is not mandatory to give entrance exam for bba , there are many colleges which does not require any entrance exam, they only check your previous academic records.
