see you can take any course for bachelors degree as per your interest, there is no restrictions of streams of graduation to become an ips officer. candidate of any area of studies can apply for it. however you need to appear in various rounds of examination including prelims and mains. however if you take economics or arts stream that might help you for  the exam as there is subject like economics, history , geography etc.
