College books is not enough to prepare you to that level. So there institute like ies master which is famous. It is totally dependent on you, if you work more and more in your college studies than it would be enough for you but reffering many types of books is always profitable.

Personally speaking for a student in Computer engineering branch college books are more than enough.

Just start practicing on different programs and if you a lot of interest in your field than you can easily crack GATE.
