Hello aspirant,

Minority certificate is a necessary document for persons who are members of a minority group seeking admission with lower fees. Christian, Muslim, Sikh, Buddha, and Parsi minorities are found in the category. The National Commission for Minorities Act was enacted in 1992 after the Central Government published a notification in the Official Gazette.

Six religious communities have been designated as minority communities by the Central Government. It appears that the central government used a numerical criteria when classifying these populations as minorities. The applicant must apply to the Tahsildar of the concerned district, who is the responsible authority, for a minority certificate.

Hope it helped

Thank you
