The UPSC syllabus includes:

  1. Prelims

    • General Studies: Current affairs, history, geography, polity, economics, environment, and science.

    • CSAT: Comprehension, logical reasoning, decision-making, and basic numeracy.

  2. Mains

    • Language Papers: English and one Indian language.
    • Essay: Writing on diverse topics.
    • General Studies (4 Papers): Culture, governance, economy, environment, ethics, and more.
    • Optional Subject: Two papers in a selected subject.

  3. Interview

    • Personality test assessing critical thinking, communication, and suitability for public service.
