Government College of Engineering, Chandrapur was established in 1996. The Government institute is funded by Government of Maharashtra.

• This is the only Government Institute under R.T.M. Nagpur University, Nagpur and Gondwana University Gadchiroli.
• In this Institute first and second year is affiliated to Gondwana University, Gadchiroli whereas Third and Final year is affiliated to R.T.M. Nagpur University.
• It is affiliated to Gondwana University.
• The placements goes in between 2.5 lakhs to 5 lakhs in this college.
