Hi Rahul

Two events are mutually exclusive when they cannot occur at the same time.

In terms of biology, growth and reproduction are mutually inclusive events in unicellular organisms like bacteria. This is because the increase in mass and size of the organism results in the formation of daughter cells.

But in higher plants and animals, growth and reproduction are mutually exclusive events as they do not occur together. Growth refers to cell enlargement and cell differentiation which is different from reproduction.
