Hello.. I dont know how selection in NITs takes place! We only get tge marks and the selection is on the basis of ranking?

Yes Gaurav, you're correct.
You appear for JEE Mains, and you score a certain amount of marks. The board then ranks candidates on the basis of their marks.
Finally, seats are alloted as per the ranks and what preference of college and branch you choose while filling the form for counselling. Also the category you belong to comes into play.
