• The eligibility for joining merchant navy is finishing class 12 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics .

  Senior School Certificate/Higher Secondary Examination/Class XII/ 10+2 from a recognized Board/ University with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM), with not less than 65% marks in PCM and 60% aggregate/ Equivalent GCE – UK “A” level/ International Baccalaureate Diploma.

Hello Kunal,

To join Merchant Navy either in Deck Department or in Engine department you first need to give IMU CET conducted by Indian Maritime University every year. After clearing that you have to go for the counselling to get admission into the colleges of IMU and to get in any College affiliated to it you have to apply separately by going on their site.

The eligibility criteria of IMU-CET is you should have passed 12th with minimum 60% in PCM and should have scored minimum of 50% in English.
