ID proof is necessary when you go to examination center because they need to check if the person who is writing the exam is same as that candidate in application form.

The ID proof can be voter ID, pan card or adhaar card. While filling up the application form ID proof is necessary, so you need have a valid ID proof. So whichever ID proof you upload in application form , you need to carry that to examination hall.
