Yes, you can apply for assistant professor after completion of PhD through jrf. Having PhD degree is mandatory qualification for you to apply for assistant professor . There are some colleges where NET qualification is not mandatory but it is good that you are taking no risk by completing PhD through NET JRF . We know that the NET JRF cut off goes very higher so by qualifying it , you will be eligible for your Assistant Professor ship.
