As you have not specified anything here about from which stream you are graduated and where do you want to teach, here I am giving you some common guidelines specified by AICTE to become Assistant professor for degree colleges:
1) Masters degree in relevant descipline is necessary.
2) Qualifiying score of UGC NET examination.
In addition to this following things will increase your chances of selection:
1) Paper publications in good journals.
2) Patients on your name.
3) Book publications.
4) Work experience in good organization.
5) PHD .
