Hey! If you are getting Government Engineering College then you must go for it as compared to Private college. The premium government engineering colleges of India (IITs, NITs, IIITs, CFTIs, GFTIs, etc) is way better than private engineering colleges in terms of faculty, placements, infrastructure. But conditions are not same with state government engineering colleges. Hope this may help you. 

Dear this all depends on which colleges you are going to compare.The big private University are better than some govt. Colleges and some govt. College are better than small private colleges under state University.So,I want to say that if the college is providing you a good platform to improve yourself and learn something to have a better future than the college is best.But big private University have higher fee structure while govt . College charge less fee as due to govt. Providing them money.So,private college like BITS is better than some of the new IITs.It can be said that state University colleges which are private are generally not so good and there govt colleges win.It all depends your choice of colleges which you are comparing.

There is no doubt that government engineering colleges are better than private colleges and some of the top government colleges like the IITs are still a dream for thousands of students in India. But,  there are some private colleges like BITS Pilani which are better than most of the government institution. It all depends on which colleges you are comparing.
