Yes you can definitely give GATE exam under computer science even you are pursuing biotechnology in btech .
But perhaps it would be very difficult for you to prepare for the gate paper with computer science branch as your btech course has no relation with programming environment and computer science is one of the core branches so it has very high cutoffs for the candidates to get admission into any prestigious college of engineering like IITs .
