Well yes, work experience in any field will be taken into consideration if you have or can generate experience letter. And have salary slip as a proof , some colleges consider more than a year as a work experience tenure. It depends on colleges also to a great extent whether they will consider this as a work experience. They might seek experience in MNCs or any relevant field. But mostly it will get considered under work experience.
