Data science specialization should have 2-3 additional subjects from B.E/B.Tech Computer Science Engineering which will not defer from core B.E/B.Tech CSE in anyways. As it's CSE with data science, rather than just data science, it'll mostly cover important subjects.

Your decision to pursue data science won't make you regret it, since it will be a good addition to your resume. So now a days its better for you to take CSE with data science specialization, because now a days data science course have more job openings are there. It may be helpful for your future too.

Computer Science Engineering (CSE) course deals with the basics of computer programming, applications of computer system and software in the real world and networking. It deals with all the basic subjects that a computer graduate should know . Data Analytics may or may not be a part of the curriculum. Later, you may choose your area of specialisation.

In CSE with Data Science specialisation, importance is given for data science and you will learn this subject in depth. This will be your area of specialisation.

Thus if you are sure that you would like to specialise in Data Science you can go for CSE with Data Science.  However, if you would like to explore other fields before choosing your specialisation, you can go for CSE course. In future, you can specialise in the field of your choice.
