Chartered Accountant or CA is the international accounting designation awarded to professional accountants. As a certified public accountant, he offers his financial advice to his clients. And its clients can range from large multinational companies, small businesses, and also individuals.

To become a CA, you must go through the 4 levels listed below: -


  • ac base
  • intermediate ac
  • Articulated training
  • ca final

You can start for CA, after your 12th / equivalent with level 1 i.e. CA Foundation, recently there have been changes in eligibility for CA Foundation and now 10th step students of the class can also register for the CA Foundation, but that will be provisional and will be regularized after passing the 12 ° / equivalent, while graduates (graduates in commerce with at least 55% and graduates in non-commerce with at least 60% in their graduation) do not have to go through the CA Foundation, can start directly from level 2 i. e Intermediate CA

Each level is briefly described below: -

  • CA Foundation:

You can opt for the CA Foundation registration after passing the 12th of any current, you must study and qualify according to 4 subjects to pass to the next level: -

  • principles and practice of accounting
  • Business mathematics, logical and statistical reasoning.
  • Business laws and business correspondence and registration
  • Business economics and business and business knowledge
  • Intermediate AC

In your CA Intermediate, you have 2 groups with 4 articles or subjects in each group

CA Intermediate Group 1: - Has the following subjects: -

  • accounting
  • cost accounting and management
  • corporate and other laws
  • taxes

CA Intermediate Group 2: - Has the following subjects: -

  • advanced accountancy
  • business information systems and strategic management
  • audit and assurance
  • financial management and economics for finance

3. Articulation Training

One can sign up for article submission after 1 or both Intermediate CA groups. Item training is 3 years.

4. CA final group

After qualifying both CA Intermediate groups, you will be eligible for the final CA registration

There are 2 groups with 4 subjects in each given below: -

Final group CA 1:

financial reports

  • advanced audit and professional ethics
  • strategic financial management
  • corporate and related laws

CA Final Group 2:

  • advanced management accounting
  • Direct tax laws
  • Indirect tax laws
  • Control and Audit of Information Systems

After completing the article training and passing the CA final, you are eligible to apply for membership of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and then become a CA.
