You do not have to appear for NEET to study and become a Microbiologist. NEET is the entrance examination for admission to Medical, Dental, Ayush and Veterinary courses across India. But not for Microbiology. To become a Microbiologist, ou should study B.Sc Microbiology, then move on to pursue M.Sc Microbiology. There are also Integrated courses that you can study in Microbiology. For studying Microbiology at Bachelor's level, you should have studied Biology as a subject in your 12th. Admission to various Colleges is done is done either through Entrance examination conducted at University level or merit based on marks scored in your 12th. There are various departments that you can work after completing your Bachelors/Masters in Microbiology. You can work as a Research Assistant, Biomedical Scientist, Food Technologist, Pharmacologist, Clinical and Veterinary Microbiologist, Industrial Microbiologist and Environmental Microbiologist. But NEET is not required.
