To become a research scientist, after 12th you have to select you area of interest or the field of specialisation in which you want to be a research scientist. Then join for your bachelor's degree in that area (BSc, BTech, BPharm etc,). After that, join for masters degree then you can take Ph. D. After you degree if you want to join ISRO, ISRO conducts entrance exam to recruit engineers or scientist so you can participate in that if you are interested.

Becoming a scientist will take a lot of hard work and perseverance and it is absolutely great that you have chosen this career path. Preparing early is always essential and it is required that before class 12th examination you think wisely and choose the specialization you wish to pursue as a scientist. If you wish to take up a Bachelor’s degree in engineering then you will be able to choose fields like –Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, Astrology, Astrophysics, Geology etc. or alternatively you have B.Sc, B.Pharma as well. It is essential that you read about the examinations, their eligibility criteria, best colleges for your specialization and prepare accordingly.
